Our Assocation Team works hard to meet the needs of those affected by Sickle cell disease in Uganda.


SAU has:

Our Programs:
  • Daily educational and counselling services
  • Outreach programmes to up country districts
  • Advocacy for patient’s rights

Genetic counselling:
  • Referral for Sickle cell testing
  • Pre-marital counselling
  • Collaborate with Mulago hospital and Sickle cell Clinic to improve Sickle cell education  among patients and families
  • Support evicted teenage Sickle cell pregnancies
  • Counsel divorced mothers because of Sickle cell babies
  • Educate religious leaders about Sickle cell disease

Ms. Annet Nakanyike is SAU's Administration Manager, Counsellor and a trainer of trainees.
B.A (Educ) Muk, Dip (Sexual Reproductive and Maternal Health) SIDA, Cert (Counselling), Certificate in Computer Applications.

Annet has worked with SAU since 2005 and started as a Volunteer counsellor. Currently is SAU's Administration Manager.

She has the heart and love for all the Sickle cell patients around the World. 

 
Mr. Edward Sentamu is SAU's Programme Officer, Counsellor and a trainer of trainees.
M.A(Human Resource) MUBS, B.A(Development Studies)MUK, Dip(Sexual Reproductive Health and Maternal Health) SIDA, Cert in Counselling (Mulago), Cert in Computer Applications (MUK)

Edward has worked with SAU since 2007 and started as a Volunteer Counsellor. Currently, he is SAU's Programme Officer. He is dedicated and committed to increase awareness to all the people around the world.

Dr Luyima and Sister Annet Sebbale
These are some of the Health workers who have worked tirelessly to save many Sickle cell patients’ lives in Uganda. They work at the Sickle cell day care centre in Mulago Hospital. 

Sister Catherine Luyombo 
She is the Sister in charge of the Sickle cell Clinic in Mulago Hospital who has dedicated her time to save many Sickle cell patients’ lives in Uganda.
